On Tuesday, September 21 at 10 a.m., Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett will announce pedestrian safety improvements for the Chevy Chase area in the Rock Creek Shopping Center at 8325 Grubb Road.
The improvements are for the area across from Rock Creek Forest Elementary School on Grubb Road that is enhancing safety not only for children, but for the entire community.
The innovative pedestrian protection improvement installed has successfully been used by the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) in other locations and has proven to be very effective in reducing motorist speeds, calming traffic and enhancing safety. The school is located across the street from the Rock Creek Shopping Center, which is a popular destination for students and residents.
